Seeking partnership for a completely nurse led neurology research study

St.Francis Hospital Nsambya -Uganda, Uganda

Seeking for a partnership opportunity for a neurology  study titled “Attitude, Knowledge and Illness Perception of Caregivers of Pediatric Patients with Neurological Disorders Attending the Pediatric Neurological Clinic at St. Francis Hospital Nsambya, Kampala, Uganda.” This study is a nurse led study. This study is to be  carried out because globally , Neurological disorders are the second leading cause of mortality accounting for 9 million deaths per year, (WHO,2022). Most of these deaths occur In middle and low income countries like Uganda where this study is going to be carried out. Many countries in Africa have not done much to find gaps and not many studies have been done. Due to this lack of evidence and information, not many policies have been put in place to mold practice in this part of the world. It is also not clear whether care givers have enough information to encourage perseverance and resilience throughout treatment.  Therefore many Caregivers of children with neurological disorders who report to the neurology clinic at Nsambya hospital come when the children are severely ill and not much being able to be done to reverse or attain stability of the illnesses. Most of these end up defaulting treatment plans and follow up when they do no see any change in the condition of the child. This results into increased morbidity and many unrecorded mortalities from neurological disorders.
